Kaveret Pictures

A few pictures from some recent and not-so-recent happenings on Kaveret.

For Tu B'shvat, the Rishon Letzion kvutza made chia pets and planted an herb garden.

Below, a few pictures from the Deshanim tzevet. Deshanim is a vocational school located outside of Haifa that offers students who have struggled in other school settings a chance to learn in a different environment while gaining new skill sets in areas such as carpentry and robotics. The Workshoppers on this tzevet are Danny S and Ari, shown below in the woodworking room.

Last Thursday, the Workshoppers went on a socio-economic exploration of Tel Aviv. Led by Tzevet Kaveret, the day began at the Central Bus Station, an area of Tel Aviv where many refugees without status in Israel are found, and temporary foreign workers. The Workshoppers then went to meet with an organizer from the tent protests, which began in summer 2011. They saw the small community of people that are carrying on the protests, some of whom are homeless. The day finished at Kikar Hamedina, a wealthy shopping square in Tel Aviv. The Workshoppers were left with difficult questions about the socio-economic gaps in Israel, and their own visions for the state of Israel. Below, the chanichim at the tent protest.
